Yes! We welcome the whole family at all events. At the ceremony and garden party we will have space for kids to play and floaties should they want to swim in the pool. Children should be supervised at all times, the villa is big and there are lots of hiding places.

We will say our vows infront of you during a 20min Ceremony followed by a relaxed garden BBQ + pool party—think festive tropical looks and fun.

Can I take photos at the ceremony?

  • Do I need a visa?

Most travelers from the US, UK, Canada and EU don’t need a visa for short stays. Your passport must be valid for the duration of stay (many airlines prefer 6 months’ validity). Always check your country’s official guidance before you fly.

    Customs tips?

Declare food, plants, and high-value electronics if requested. Duty-free alcohol and tobacco allowances apply; pack any duty-free liquids in checked bags if you have a connection.

    Which airport?

Grantley Adams International (BGI) is the island’s main airport, ~15–25 minutes to the South Coast (Oistins/Christ Church) and ~45–70 minutes to the West/North Coasts depending on traffic.

    Taxis Fairs from the Airport

    Bridgetown Harbour BDS $74.00

    Holetown / Porters BDS $122.00

    Oistins - BDS $39.00

    Speightstown - BDS $144.00

    St. Lawrence / Dover - BDS $53.00

  • What’s the currency?

Barbadian Dollar (BBD), fixed at BBD $2 = USD $1. US dollars are widely accepted; you may receive change in BBD. (You’re better changing money to US that BBD.)

    ATMs & cards?

ATMs are common in malls and banks; major cards are widely accepted at hotels and restaurants. Keep some small cash for markets, beach vendors, and minibuses.

    How much should I tip?

Many restaurants add a 10% service charge. If not, 10–15% is customary for good service. Round up for taxis.

  • Phones & Internet

    Will my phone work?

Yes—major carriers offer roaming. For cheaper data, pick up a local eSIM/SIM from Flow or Digicel (passport required). Hotels and cafes usually have Wi-Fi.

    Power & Plugs

    Do I need an adapter?

(SAME PLUGS AS US) Voltage is typically 115V / 50Hz with Type A/B plugs (same physical plugs as US/Canada). Visitors from the UK/EU will need an adapter; most laptop/phone chargers handle 50/60Hz automatically.

  • Are there ride-share apps?

No Uber/Lyft. Use hotel-arranged taxis, taxi stands, or reputable drivers. Agree the fare before you ride (taxis are usually unmetered).

    Public transport?

Blue government buses and white ZR minibuses run along main routes at a flat cash fare (small change helps). They’re frequent and lively; great for short hops.

    Car rentals & driving?

Driving is on the left. Your rental company will issue a temporary visitor permit (bring your home license). Roads are narrow with speed humps; avoid night driving if unfamiliar.

    Parking?

Look for signed lots near beaches and towns; don’t leave valuables in the car.

    Best beach etiquette?

Use reef-safe sunscreen, don’t stand on coral, and give sea turtles space. Many beaches are public—respect private loungers/umbrellas.

Top things to do near the South Coast:

Catamaran cruises (snorkel with turtles) we reccommend Tiami, or Cool Runnings, Oistins Fish Fry (Fri nights), Carlisle Bay wreck snorkeling, boardwalk sunsets, rum distillery tours.

    Water sports?

Jet skis, paddle boards, surf lessons, and clear-kayak tours are common—book through reputable operators; life jackets are recommended.

    Dietary needs?

Most restaurants can accommodate vegetarian/vegan/gluten-free with notice. Popular local dishes include flying fish, macaroni pie, cutters, and pepperpot.

    Reservations?

Make dinner reservations for ocean-view spots, especially on weekends and during peak season.

    Local specialties to try:

Rum punch, Banks beer, fish cakes, coconut bread, snow cones with “foam.”
